Again and again it happens that films or series episodes are dedicated in the credits to people who died during the period of production and are connected to it in one way or another, regardless of whether they were involved themselves or perhaps relatives of the makers* were inside behind the respective project.
Especially when this dedication applies to people who are not known to the masses as big stars in front of the camera, there is a need for clarification for the curious public. No «The Wilds» without Jamie Tarses
The Jamie mentioned is Jamie Tarses , who was part of The Wilds’ behind-the-scenes team as Executive Producer — and as such played a pivotal role in the making of the series. Because although series creator Sarah Streicher was not a completely blank slate even before the start of the series (after all, she was part of the team of authors of the Marvel series » Daredevil «), Tarses, as an experienced series veteran for the industry, was THE big name in production, the one of the decisive factors was that Amazon gave the project the green light in the first place.
Tarses began her TV career in the 1980s at NBC, where she helped launch hit shows like Frasier , Mad About You , and Friends (she got one for a reason too). in the «Friends» reunion special of 2021 already a dedication). After climbing the career ladder, she finally switched to NBC’s ABC in 1996, where she was the first woman to head the entertainment department until 1999. But even after her time at ABC, she remained loyal to the industry — until she finally actively supported the realization of «The Wilds».

However, just a few weeks before the premiere of the first season at the end of 2020, Jamie Tarses suffered a stroke from which she never really recovered. She finally passed away on February 1, 2021 at the age of 56 after complications with her heart. Tarses’ influence on the series is now not only honored by the said dedication, but also by the fact that she is posthumously named as a producer.
