On this occasion, we exchanged detailed information with the two very popular series creators Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger , who have just brought what is probably the most successful series of the last decade to a glorious conclusion with » This Is Us «. MOVIE STARTS: Is «How I Met Your Father» a spin-off, a sequel or a reboot? What official name did you agree on?
Isaac Aptaker: We say Sequel. The series is set in the same universe as the original series, but features an entirely new set of characters.
FILM STARTS: Was there an extra meeting to agree on a term, or did that develop naturally?
Elizabeth Berger: I think it came naturally. (laughs) What I find particularly exciting is that it exists in the same universe — which also means that people from the original could appear at any time. Locations that played a role in How I Met Your Mother also exist in our series. But at the same time it is about a completely new central love story.
