The Avatar 2 trailer mainly features spectacular images of the Na’vi and their homeland of Pandora, but upon closer inspection it is also packed with interesting details. For example, the trailer already shows how the villain Quaritch (Stephen Lang) who died in «Avatar» can be back — and we see that the family of Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) is also a human one (!) child included.
The explanation for this has nothing to do with the basic premise of humans like Jake slipping into cloned Na’vi-like avatar bodies, or any consequent reproductive quirks, but is much simpler:
Miles Socorro aka Spider, the name of the human child, was born to two humans on a military base on Pandora and adopted by Jake and Neytiri. Spider (played by Jack Champion ) was left on the alien moon because he was too young for the years of interstellar travel home to Earth.
