The release situation of the current «Star Trek» series in Germany is — to put it mildly — complicated. While » Star Trek: Picard » and » Star Trek: Lower Decks » are running on Amazon Prime Video in this country, the children’s animated series » Star Trek: Prodigy » hasn’t even started yet and new episodes of » Star Trek: Discovery » are getting lots of fans -Outcry no longer on Netflix, but now celebrating its local premiere on Pluto TV, the latest franchise entry will probably end up on another platform again. And even later than hoped, as has now been communicated via an official «Star Trek» Twitter channel.

Especially the recently published enthusiastic critics about «Strange New Worlds», which speak, among other things, of the best «Star Trek» series for years, if not decades, were able to fuel the anticipation again ( the series is on the review collection site Rotten Tomatoes still with 100 percent positive reviews):

But anyone who was still hoping that the “ Spaceship Enterprise ” prequel based on the adventures of Krik’s predecessor Captain Pike ( Anson Mount ) will find its way to us fairly soon after the US launch on May 5, 2022 should now be ultimately disappointed. It has long been rumored that «Star Trek: Strange New Worlds» will be one of the big launch titles for the local Paramount+ when the streaming platform will also be available in Germany — and the tweet above should now confirm that.
While the start of the service was once promised for early 2022 and it will now be launched in Great Britain in June 2022, it was recently announced that it would only be ready in this country in the second half of the year. Now it will apparently only be the case in the last few months of the year and the German launches of Paramount + and «Star Trek: Strange New Worlds» will actually coincide.
