After “ Navy CIS: LA ” and “ Navy CIS: New Orleans ” “ Navy CIS: Hawaii ” is now the third spin-off of the long-running crime thriller “ Navy CIS ” (which, yes itself was already an offshoot of the series » JAG — On Order of Honor «). Fans of the hit franchise in this country had to wait a full seven months after the US start for the latest offshoot, but now the time has finally come.
«NCIS: Hawaii» starts today, April 26, 2022 on Sat.1. Double episodes are shown there every Tuesday from 8.15 p.m. At the same time, the episodes will also be available flexibly from Joyn for a limited period of time. PLUS subscribers to the streaming service can even watch the new episodes ad-free a week before they are broadcast on free TV.

«NCIS: Hawaii» breaks new ground
In the previous series of the «Navy CIS» universe, too, women naturally had and still have leading roles. So far, however, the so-called Special Agents in Charge have all been men – from Mark Harmon’s Gibbs to Chris O’Donnell’s Callen and Scott Bakula’s Pride. In «Navy CIS: Hawaii» a woman is now leading an NCIS team and the cast for the first time: As Jane Tennant, actress Vanessa Lachey is breaking new ground for the franchise.
Single mom Jane is struggling to balance her job as head of NCIS Pearl Harbor with her family life. Her squad of investigators on the titular island also includes young, motivated Lucy Tara ( Yasmine Al-Bustami ), cyber expert Ernie Malik ( Jason Antoon ), ambitious DIA agent Kate Whistler ( Tori Anderson ), who recently returned to his native Hawaii returned Kai Holman ( Alex Tarrant ) and Jesse Boone ( Noah Mills ), who was previously a detective in Washington.
«NCIS» Crossover
«Navy CIS» fans can not only look forward to a lot of fresh air in «NCIS: Hawaii», but also one or the other connection to the main series. Episode 18 of Season 1 continues a crossover with «NCIS» that started there in Episode 17 of Season 19. Among other things, «NCIS» fan favorite Torres ( Wilmer Valderrama ), who shares a common past with Tennant, is visiting Hawaii for this.
It remains to be hoped that Sat.1 will then broadcast the crossover double episode of the two series in such a way that they — as with their US premiere — will run one after the other. However, there is still no confirmation of this.
