The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) comprises 28 films and six series and the series has now been running for 14 years, but it took a long time for the MCU to resort to one of its most popular and effective stylistic devices: the animal sidekick. This is all the more surprising because Marvel has been part of Disney for a few years now and four-legged companions are ubiquitous in the Maushaus classics.
However, sidekicks have only recently really taken off in the MCU, with Alligator Loki and Throg in Loki and Morris in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings . However, another animal made the start – namely in “ Captain Marvel ”, which airs on June 5, 2022 at 8:15 p.m. on Pro Sieben . Captain Marvel’s Goose may appear to be a cat, but there’s more to the character’s cute, fluffy exterior. What exactly, we don’t want to reveal at this point if you haven’t seen «Captain Marvel» yet.
Just this much: Anyone who knows the Marvel comics should probably already have an idea of what Goose (by the way a reference to “ Top Gun ”, whose sequel “ Top Gun 2 ” is currently running with great success in cinemas) is all about Has.
And as Captain Marvel VFX supervisor Christopher Townsend revealed in an interview, Goose is actually computerized in «70 or 80» out of 100 takes in the film . That’s partly because cats don’t train well — and partly because Goose isn’t a cat.

FILMSTARTS editor-in-chief Christoph Petersen also describes Goose as the “not-so-secret star of the film” in his review of “Captain Marvel” , but he only comes to a solid conclusion overall (3 out of 5 stars):
“At first it takes too long for ‘Captain Marvel’ to finally get going — and even then the gags and teasing are particularly convincing, while the action disappoints to the end. Brie Larson, on the other hand, goes through an amazing development from the stuttering opening to the convincing end.”

The plot of «Captain Marvel»
Vers ( Brie Larson ) fights for the alien Kree, but is captured by the enemy Skrulls during a mission. The apparently evil shapeshifters around leader Talos ( Ben Mendelsohn ) try to get information from the prisoners’ brains, but Vers manages to escape and ends up on 90s Earth.
There she meets SHIELD agents Nick Fury ( Samuel L. Jackson ) and Phil Coulson ( Clark Gregg ), but the supposed alien soon discovers that she is apparently actually from Earth and lives under the name Carol Danvers as a fighter pilot in a secret facility…
