When at the end of “ Split ” with James McAvoy as the kidnapper with a 23-fold split personality Bruce Willis suddenly sits at the bar in his role as the indestructible David Dunn, the twist caught us cold too. Even more than the surprising twist, however, the possibility of a crossover between » Unbreakable » and «Split» blew us away. And three years later the time had actually come: M. Night Shyamalan’s superhero trilogy conclusion » Glass » came with the absolute dream cast of Bruce Willis / Samuel L. Jackson/ James McAvoy hit theaters – and despite the mysterious trailers that see the three protagonists suddenly seem stuck in a psychiatric facility… it was okay.
Of course not what we — like many fans — had hoped for. However, it took a few years with «Unbreakable» before the film, after the initial disappointment of not being just another » The Sixth Sense «, still earned its deserved cult status as one of the best and, above all, the most extraordinary superhero movies ever deserved. So maybe it’s time to give «Glass» and his Shyamalan Mega Twist, which of course didn’t fail to happen this time, a second chance. You could do that tonight, for example, when ProSieben is broadcasting the film at prime time from 8:15 p.m.
