Andrew Davis ‘ «Red Alert » » On the Run » is a pretty special film for a number of reasons. For example, the thriller — like the Tom Cruise franchise «Mission: Impossible» — is based on a series from the 1960s. There were a total of seven (!) Oscar nominations for “On the Run” , including for Best Picture. For a thoroughbred genre film, that’s exceptional.
In the end, «only» Tommy Lee Jones was able to take home a golden boy as Best Supporting Actor, but that doesn’t change anything about the class of «On the Run», which for us is not only one of the most exciting thrillers of the 1990s , but also to the absolute masterpieces of film history. Anyone who hasn’t seen the rousing high-voltage thriller can do so today, May 11 at 10:40 p.m. on Kabel 1. Uncut, of course.

That’s what «On the Run» is about
dr Richard Kimble ( Harrison Ford ) is a respected surgeon respected by everyone around him. However, times change when Kimble is brought to justice for the alleged murder of his wife. Although he vehemently protests his innocence, he is sentenced to imprisonment. During the transport of prisoners, he involuntarily manages a spectacular escape with the help of other prisoners.
