Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios
The Marvel Cinematic Universe currently consists of 28 films and six series and, in addition to well-known heroes, now also includes a decent hodgepodge of supporting characters. And some of them keep coming back — like FBI agent Jimmy Woo ( Randall Park ), who became a fan favorite after «Ant-Man And The Wasp» in «WandaVision».
A similar fate could now await another law enforcement officer: P. Cleary ( Arian Moayed ) from the Damage Control agency will apparently also be in » Ms. Marvel » after his appearance in » Spider-Man: No Way Home » .
SonyPictures Damage Control Agent P. Cleary (Arian Moayed) in «Spider-Man: No Way Home»
This emerges from a cast list that is available on various American film sites. In the previous press releases from Germany, however, Moayed’s name has not yet been read. Theoretically, Moayed could play another character (that already happened in the MCU), but we don’t think so.
Cleary was the lead agent in «Spider-Man: No Way Home» that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and later also Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya) and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) for the alleged murder of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrested and personally interrogated.
That’s damage control
Damage Control is an organization that has been part of the MCU since Iron Man, but has primarily played a role in the Spider-Man films (previously also in Spider-Man: Homecoming ).
The United States Department of Damage Control was originally responsible for maintaining order after incidents involving superheroes and supervillains. However, by the time No Way Home was set, Damage Control had apparently also become some kind of law enforcement agency.
Damage Control in «Ms. Marvel»
And that’s exactly the role Damage Control in general and Agent Cleary in particular could play in «Ms. Marvel» play: Already in the first trailer, various shots of emergency vehicles, police officers and people in suits could be seen.
» «Ms. Marvel» at Disney+ *
Rumor has it that we’re going to be in «Ms. Marvel» get to know an organization called NICE, but that doesn’t rule out an appearance by Damage Control. Maybe NICE is even a subdivision of Damage Control, which Cleary was transferred to after his experiences on No Way Home?
We will find out more details very soon: Because “Ms. Marvel” launches on June 8, 2022 on Disney+.
