The cinema operator fair CinemaCon, which recently ended, has provided us with a whole heap of news about the upcoming blockbuster highlights in 2022 and 2023 (take a look at FILMSTARTS, it’s particularly worth it at the moment!). The popular alien horror series “ A Quiet Place ” was also a topic. Although only the title of the upcoming spin-off » A Quiet Place: Day One » was revealed, that’s enough to narrow down the plot of the film…
That means the title «A Quiet Place: Day One»
The name «Day One» makes it clear that the spin-off will take place at the beginning of the alien apocalypse. So, similar to the flashback at the start of A Quiet Place 2 , we’re likely to witness the humans being overrun by the blind but particularly sound-sensitive alien monsters on the very first day. That sounds promising, after all, that scene was one of the absolute highlights of the second part.
So «Day One» will be a kind of prequel, which is supposed to be about a different group of characters, but in which a short appearance by John Krasinski , Emily Blunt and Co. is not completely ruled out. At least that’s what Krasinski himself hinted at with a wink in the interview with FILMSTARTS when he said that you’ll see «a little bit of both»:

This time, however, the spin-off will not be directed by the «The Office» star. Instead, Michael Sarnoski , who delivered one of the most surprising film highlights of 2021 with the Nicolas Cage pig drama «Pig», will take on the directorship and authorship.
In addition to «Day One» there is also «A Quiet Place 3»
As already reported by several US media in February, there will be another new part of the horror series. “ A Quiet Place 3 ” has also already been announced. There is still no information about the sequel, but after the rather open end of part 2 it is very likely that the story of the Abbott family will be continued here. It is not yet clear whether John Krasinski will return as director or writer for part 3. So far he has only been confirmed as a producer.
«A Quiet Place: Day One» starts on September 21, 2023 in German cinemas. A Quiet Place 3 is announced for 2025.
