A magical school, a fight between good and evil and all young people in the middle: » The School For Good And Evil » is reminiscent of the famous » Harry Potter » series by JK Rowling. No wonder, after all, such fantastic young-adult stories are still very popular, even if the big cinema hype has died down a bit.
After the first scenes were published more than a year ago (!) , Netflix has now shown the first trailer for «The School For Good And Evil» at its in-house fan fair Geeked Week.
«The School For Good And Evil» is based on the book series of the same name by Soman Chainani and although there are certain similarities with «Harry Potter», the focus here is not only on witches and wizards, but on all sorts of aspiring fairy tale characters — both evil and evil the good ones.
The main characters are Sophie ( Sophia Anne Caruso ) and Agatha ( Sofia Wylie ), who are considered misfits in their village of Gavaldon and are best friends despite their contrasting natures.

One day, Sophie and Agatha are sent to magic school, but it seems that they each end up in the wrong department: the good-natured Sophie, who loves fairy tales above all else, ends up in the school of evil run by the sharp-tongued Lady Lesso ( Charlize Theron ) and the fierce Agatha in Professor Dovey’s ( Kerry Washington ) School of Good .
The two really want to go to the right school, but only a kiss from true love can ensure that, as the schoolmaster ( Laurence Fishburne ) explains to them. So begins a great adventure for the two, in which the descendants of Cinderella, Captain Hook and King Arthur as well as the dangerous Rafal ( Kit Young ), who threatens to destroy the school and its rules, are involved…
The School For Good And Evil is directed by Paul Feig (Ghostbusters, Just a Small Favor). There is no exact start date yet, but Netflix has revealed in the trailer above that the fantasy adventure will be available on the streaming service in autumn 2022.
