» The Outfit — Crimes Made to Measure » tells the story of the English master tailor Leonard Burling ( Mark Rylance ) in Chicago in 1956. He once made tailor-made suits for London’s high society on the world-famous Savile Row. However, after a personal tragedy, Leonard could no longer endure his homeland. So he exchanged the glamorous and prestigious job in the British metropolis for a small side street tailoring shop in the rough US metropolis.
Of course, you can’t choose your clientele in a region like this. And so soon a whole series of more than shady characters frequent the business run by Leonard and his assistant Mable ( Zoey Deutch ). Things escalate one night when the seriously injured son ( Dylan O’Brien ) of a local crime boss ( Simon Russell Beale ) and a psychopathic killer ( Johnny Flynn ) seek refuge from the police and their other enemies at the store…

Mark Rylance has already stood in front of the camera for Steven Spielberg three times in recent years — on «Ready Player One» (2018), «BFG — Big Friendly Giant» (2016) and Bridge Of Spies — The Negotiator» (2015) . The Englishman received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Bridge Of Spies. He was also in «Dunkirk», «The Trial Of The Chicago 7» and the Netflix hit «Don’t Look Up».
Now, on The Outfit, Rylance has teamed up with another Academy Award-winning director for his directorial debut. We’re talking about Graham Moore , who received the coveted statue for his screenplay for «The Imitation Game — A Top Secret Life». Most recently, he wrote the script for the sci-fi thriller “ Mind Fall ”, which is about to start shooting and which director Mathieu Kassovitz wants to direct with Daisy Ridley in the leading role. Moore’s next directorial work, Naked Is The Best Disguise, is also set in the future.
Besides Rylance, the cast of The Outfit also included: Zoey Deutch («When You Die, They Say Your Whole Life Passes Before You»), Johnny Flynn («The Dig»), Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien, Simon Russell Beale («The Deception») and Nikki Amuka-Bird from «Old» and «The Laundromat».
