But the most important message is: There will be a second season of «Herzschlag». This means that the series is being extended very early on, which also speaks for its huge success. Because Netflix normally allows at least four weeks to watch the hours streamed and then decide whether to extend or cancel it. So all fans of the series can already breathe a sigh of relief because they won’t be left with the Season 1 cliffhanger. In the coming second season, the question should be answered as to what happened to Camila (Ana Lucía Domínguez) after she faked her own death in the cliffhanger at the end of season 1 and fled to another country for a new start. But her devious husband Zacarías ( Sebastian Martínez ) found out about her — and the season ended with this open scenario. And Simón (Michael Brown) should also be on Camila’s heels, now that he knows that the woman he has fallen in love with carries the heart of his murdered wife.

But there are still no official details about the content of season 2 – and series creator Leonardo Padrón is also silent about it. In an interview with Deadline , Padrón said he doesn’t yet know where the story will go. The announcement is still very fresh and first of all he is enjoying the success. Then he will retreat to his office to think up new adventures for the characters.
Season 2 of Heartbeat is part of the new deal Leonardo Padrón has struck with Netflix. He is now under contract with the streaming giant for several years and will develop further series and films — but season 2 of «Herzschlag» has priority for now.
