In Episode 4 of the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi , a shocking sight unfolds: as Obi-Wan infiltrates the Inquisitors’ stronghold on Mustafar’s moon Nur, he encounters numerous Jedi killed by the Empire. But who exactly are the bodies? Should you know them or are they completely newly created characters? And what about the fan theory that one of them is Mace Windu? We want to answer these questions as best we can in this article.

The easiest first: Tera Sinube
The first Jedi Obi-Wan finds in the tomb is the one most easily identified: it is Tera Sinube, a once very wise and high-ranking master of the Cosian species, who in » The Clone Wars » became a Jedi had a bigger appearance.

He appeared in several episodes of the animated series. But he was really important in Season 2, Episode 11 entitled «Lightsaber Lost». In it he helped the young Ahsoka Tano to find her lost lightsaber and gave her some wisdom for life. After all, Tera Sinube was already part of the Jedi Order during the High Republic era and can therefore look back on several decades of experience.
Who are the other dead Jedi in «Obi-Wan Kenobi»
With the remaining corpses, it is much more difficult to make statements about their identity. Normally, the Internet is always very quick to completely clear up all possible Easter Eggs for current «Star Wars» series within a very short time. But in fact there is apparently no one yet who has clearly identified other Jedi besides Tera Sinube.
We therefore assume that the remaining dead are not all known Jedi, but simply a few new characters of different species were created for the series to represent a wide range of victims.
Nonetheless, there are at least a few theories as to who the dead Jedi might be: One of them could be Coleman Kcaj , a Jedi of the Ongree species who only appeared in the background in Revenge of the Sith .

Another looks suspiciously like Quinlan Vos . But we don’t think it’s him. Otherwise, Obi-Wan would have shown a stronger reaction to it. After all, he reacted particularly well in episode 3 when he saw a sign of life from Quinlan.

Of course, when you think of the youngster , you immediately think of the one from «Revenge of the Sith» who spoke to the evil Anakin before he started his slaughter. But we think it’s just some young man. It is quite possible, however, that he was also in the Jedi Temple when he was killed. In any case, his headgear, which is used during training, speaks for it.

Is that really Mace Windu?
Some fans even think they can spot Mace Windu among the corpses, in this shot on the right:
Disney and its affiliates Even if some fans are already speculating: The dead Jedi here is definitely not Mace Windu!
But we think that’s nonsense , for two reasons. First, the character appears to still have his right hand, which would argue against the Jedi portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in the prequels. Secondly, Obi-Wan would certainly not just walk past the former military leader (!) of the Jedi, but would react to him in some way.
In addition to the Jedi corpses shown here, there are a few more in the «Obi-Wan» episode, but we haven’t found any clues or theories as to who exactly they might be.
So there you have it: The only character from the Jedi Tomb that can be identified relatively clearly as a known Jedi is Tera Sinube. One can only vaguely speculate about the others. Coleman Kcaj seems like at least a plausible candidate. However, we believe the theories that the bodies of Quinlan Vos and Mace Windu are shown in «Obi-Wan» Episode 4 are false.
