Although Wrath of the Beasts – Jallikattu falls more into the insider tip category, acclaimed Indian director Lijo Jose Pelissery ‘s latest film has been compared by many to George Miller’s brutal action artwork Mad Mad: Fury Road. The reason for this is obvious: «Jallikattu», which is now available as a subscription to Amazon Prime Video , is a wild monster of a film that rolls so mercilessly over its audience that it simply takes its breath away time and time again is stolen.
The official FILMSTARTS review , in which author Janick Nolting gave a total of 4.5 out of a possible 5 stars, says, among other things: » ‘ Jallikattu ‘ feels like the Safdie brothers (‘The Black Diamond’) have the jungle chase from Mel Gibson’s ‘Apocalypto’, adapted from Darren Aronofsky’s ‘mother!’ get inspired. The result is raw, overwhelming cinema in constant motion.”
