That’s what «Frequency» is about
John Sullivan ( James Caviezel ) is a stressed-out New York City cop who has just broken up with the love of his life, Samantha ( Melissa Errico ). One day he uses his deceased father’s old radio to contact a stranger. After a few conversations, when he recognizes the voice on the other end of the line as that of his father Frank ( Dennis Quaid ), he is blown away.
The firefighter died in a rescue operation 30 years ago. John warns his father about the deadly accident and thus changes the course of the past. However, this has extremely fatal consequences: a short time later, John’s mother ( Elizabeth Mitchell ) is murdered by a brutal serial killer. Together, John and Frank go in search of the killer, who has already targeted other victims.
