We admit: We too were a little surprised that the long-planned remake of Stephen King ‘s 1980s cult novel «Feuerkind» will be released in cinemas this week . After the release of a single trailer in February of this year, there has been almost no trace of an advertising campaign for » Firestarter » in the past few months.
And that the sci-fi horror thriller (which will also be released directly on the Peacock streaming service in the USA parallel to the theatrical release) is now only a week after the theatrical release of the MCU mega blockbuster » Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness » in the cinemas, should not exactly be conducive to public perception either.
That’s one of the reasons why we want to draw your attention to «Firestarter» once again — albeit with the note that the film was not shown to us in advance and so unfortunately we can’t say anything about its quality yet. The release policy certainly raises skepticism, but at least those involved in the new King adaptation are quite promising…
