Despite its untouchable classic status, “ Lawrence of Arabia ” was hard to come by in the right quality for a long time : although the epic appeared as part of the Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection , this set has long been out of print. And generally it’s rather unattractive to have to buy a 17-disc set when you might just want one of the included movies on 4K Blu-ray. But that’s over now: On June 9, 2022, «Lawrence of Arabia» will be released on the occasion of its 60th anniversary in a limited steel book edition on 4K Blu-ray — in all its glory . After all, it is one of the few films shot in 65 or 70mm that is still one of the greatest visual milestones in film history.

Maybe this is also a reason for film fans without 4K equipment to deal again (or for the first time) with the monumental film based on true events full of adventure flair. Its almost four hours of running time may seem daunting at first. But over the course of about three episodes of the current season of Stranger Things , you’ll get a lot! And DVDs and Blu-rays are almost thrown at you anyway…
