The official title of Mission: Impossible 7 is Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One . This was announced by the Paramount film studio at the cinema operator fair CinemaCon, which several US media reported unanimously. The title of Part 8 is now also set, which logically can only be called » Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two «. The title announcement wasn’t the only revelation regarding the action blockbuster.
Paramount also showed the CinemaCon attendees a first trailer for the spy spectacle starring Tom Cruise. Although the trailer was not published online, US media have described what was in it.

According to Deadline , the trailer begins with a conversation between Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cruise ) and his former boss, Eugene Kittridge ( Henry Czerny ). This last appeared in the very first » Mission: Impossible » from 26 (!) years ago. The return is not a surprise, however, and was announced by director Christopher McQuarrie in early 2021.
Kittridge says this to Hunt: «Your days of fighting for a greater cause are over. This is our chance to control the truth, the concept of right and wrong for centuries to come. You fought for an ideal that doesn’t exist, that never existed. You have to choose a side.”
Then there are some shots of Venice, the Vatican, Tom Cruise in a desert and plenty of action moments with, among others, the White Widow ( Vanessa Kirby ) and Ilsa ( Rebecca Ferguson ). There is also a particularly intense scene in which an office fills with gas. The trailer ends with a stunt that was already shown at CinemaCon 2021: Tom Cruise jumping off a cliff in Norway with a motorcycle.
All of this sounds exactly like what we expect from a «Mission: Impossible» film: full action, spectacular locations from around the world and a Tom Cruise performing daring stunts. We are now even more excited to finally see the trailer for ourselves.
» Mission: Impossible 7 » will unfortunately not start in German cinemas until July 13, 2023. Luckily, our Tom Cruise cravings will soon be sated with Top Gun 2 , which hits theaters on May 26, 2022 and is already getting rave reviews:
