In these first excerpts, «Peter Five Eight» may seem like a third-rate direct-to-DVD flick, but the perverse subtext of Spacey’s commitment gives it a second level that is as disturbing as it is fascinating. In fact, the makers of the trailer seem to be aware of this: The sleazy, soft-porno-esque sounds at the beginning lead on the wrong track in terms of genre, but when Kevin Spacey suddenly appears, who in his first appearance after such a long time first of all as a stalker spied on opaque motives of a woman, then the questionable musical sound reinforcement somehow seems appropriate. But what is it all about?

«Peter Five Eight» is about a real estate agent named Sam ( Jet Jandreau ) who lives in a small town in the mountains and seems to have her life in full control. However, she has a dark past, which is then unearthed when a mysterious stranger ( Kevin Spacey ) seeks her out. As the trailer shows, it is initially content with photographing Sam from afar and later intimidates her with threatening gestures. But in the end he starts the hunt for the young woman and shoots several people bloody over the heap…
