Most recently, it was «Basic Instinct» creator Paul Verhoeven who served the nuns’ cinema with «Benedetta» and showed what lustful slobs take place behind the monastery wall. In the action comedy “ LA Queens ”, ex-Disney idol Bella Thorne , Andreja Pejic and Libby Mintz also throw a nun’s robe on – and do it even more colorfully than the greaser Paul Verhoeven did in his erotic historical film.
If the trailer is to be believed, an unrestrained mix of sex, drugs and violence awaits us in “ LA Queens ” by debut director Janell Shirtcliff . The action comedy will be released in Germany on April 29 on Blu-ray and DVD. You can also buy the film in HD via Prime Video for 11.99 euros.

That’s what LA Queens is about
When Los Angeles’ hottest nightclubs are in full swing, slinky hostesses Mads (Bella Thorne), Addy (Andreja Pejic) and Evie (Libby Mintz) arrive to sell their dealer Eric’s ( Gavin Rossdale ) drugs to the rich and famous sell town. When the three women go mercilessly one night, they are robbed of their entire income by a stranger.
A bitter setback for drug baroness Queenie ( Josie Ho ), who feels her trust has been betrayed and then shows no mercy: she unceremoniously sends a completely wacky contract killer after the trio. Mads, Addy and Evie hide in an unknowing woman’s mansion posing as nuns. Their plan is to disguise themselves as ministers of God to get donations in order to get out of town as quickly as possible.
Michael Jackson’s daughter as Jesus
When the first cast details and two photos for «LA Queens» were published at Easter 2020, the timing was of course perfect to quickly get everyone talking about the project. In the United States, the Christian conservatives were up in arms and spoke — as usual — of «blasphemy» and «blasphemy». Janell Shirtcliff, who hadn’t even finished her film at the time, was naturally well served by this advertisement.
But you also have to admit that the cast has it all. In addition to Bella Thorne, who has been good for one or the other controversy, the cast of Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson should cause a stir. She appears as a female Jesus — and for whatever reason, the god-fearing activists, in their indignant reactions (and without having seen the film), went straight to the point that the Messiah is also a lesbian.
