Loved by many for the cult crossover Alien Vs. Predator, others for the Resident Evil series — and more recently he’s made headlines with Monster Hunter. For many sci-fi fans, however, there is only one correct answer to the question about the best film by director Paul WS Anderson : » Event Horizon — At the edge of the universe «.
The dark science fiction shocker from 1997 burns itself into the memory with nightmarish horrifying visions that one hears and sees passes – even a quarter of a century later. And that’s exactly what will soon shine in new splendor: «Event Horizon» will be released on August 18, 2022 for the first time on 4K Blu-ray (of course completely unabridged) — as a strictly limited Steelbook edition, which you can get now:

Amazon lists the edition, which will also contain the standard Blu-ray of the film in addition to the Ultra HD disc, although still without a picture. However, we assume that this will be the same Steelbook that will be released in the USA soon:

The lost director’s cut of «Event Horizon» is one of Hollywood’s greatest dark legends. While we’ll probably never get to see the extended version, which is said to contain many, many more disturbing scenes, the well-known theatrical version is also pretty tough. But it’s not just the particularly drastic sequences that are burned into the memory — bloodthirsty and sometimes supported by strobe lights — the iconic line-up of stars is also remembered. Among them are «Matrix» star Laurence Fishburne , «Jurassic Park» legend Sam Neill and Jason Isaacs («Harry Potter»).

And that’s what «Event Horizon» is about: In the year 2047, the crew of the space freighter Lewis & Clark goes in search of the spaceship Event Horizon, which disappeared seven years earlier — a gigantic cruiser that is supposed to break the speed of light and thus refute Einstein’s theory. And indeed, the crew around Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne) succeeds in locating the ship in Neptune’s orbit. But the crew soon realizes that no one is alive on board. It doesn’t take long for them to go through hell themselves…
