Yes, the film doesn’t start until the middle of the night. More precisely at 00.30 on Tele5. But “ The Killer Inside Me ” is just one of those films that were shown in cinemas in the 1970s alongside works like “ Eraserhead ” and “ El Topo ” as so-called midnight films in the (super) late-night movies. The Killer Inner Plot: As a child, Luke had an imaginary playmate named Daniel (that’s why the film’s original title is Daniel Isn’t Real). However, his mother eventually forced him to lock Daniel up in the attic — and he hasn’t actually reappeared since. But then the now-adult Luke ( Miles Robbins ) falls into a deep crisis, whereupon his psychiatrist recommends bringing Daniel ( Patrick Schwarzenegger ) back into his life as a last resort. Actually, the imaginary friend is just supposed to give him comfort, but instead the imaginary Daniel quickly takes control of the real Luke — with some pretty fucked up consequences…
