While We Own This City isn’t an official sequel to The Wire , the six-part crime drama can still be described as a sort of sequel to what we consider to be the best series of all time. Not only was the series developed by The Wire creator David Simon and The Wire producer George Pelecanos , it also shares a very similar theme. It is again about the everyday life of the police in the fight against crime in the US city of Baltimore.
The first episode of the series highlight is available from today, April 26, on Sky Go and Sky Ticket (by the way, «The Wire» is also available there). The other episodes will then appear on a weekly basis:

›› «The Wire» on Sky Ticket *
If you want to watch the series, you shouldn’t take too much time with it though. According to Sky Ticket, episode 1 is only available until June 28, 2022. The individual episodes will therefore only be available for around two months.
That’s what «We Own This City» is about
The crime series is set in Baltimore in 2015. The police are struggling to deal with the many drug and gun crimes in the city when a tragic incident further escalates the situation. The 25-year-old African American Freddie Gray dies in police custody under mysterious circumstances. Of course, this causes riots in the streets, especially from the black population, who all too often fall victim to prejudiced police violence.
