In a previous article, we referred to Netflix actioner Day Shift as a cross between Blade and Extraction . And that still pretty much sums it up when you watch the new clip of the vampire slayer movie starring Jamie Foxx : the cast and crew talk about the movie in the video, but there are also plenty of new scenes from Day Shift to watch , and in these there is both vampire fantasy horror à la «Blade» and explosions, chases and hand-to-hand fights like in «Extraction» and Co.
And it’s no wonder that the scenes — the first real trailer hasn’t been released yet — are so banging. Behind «Day Shift» are several creators of the celebrated » John Wick » films with Keanu Reeves, in which, as is well known, things are not particularly squeamish:

John Wick director Chad Stahelski served as producer, and Shay Hatten , writer of John Wick 3 & 4, co -wrote the screenplay for Day Shift with Tyler Tice . In the Netflix video, they talk about what makes the new vampire actioner so special — and according to Jamie Foxx, these include the many handmade effects.
Jamie Foxx leads a double life
In «Day Shift,» Foxx plays a pool attendant who works his back-breaking day job to care for his daughter in the swanky San Fernando Valley. This job is just a camouflage: Because at night he pursues his true calling — he hunts vampires, as part of an international vampire hunters’ association…
In addition to Jamie Foxx, «Day Shift» also stars Dave Franco , Snoop Doog , Tetiana Gaidar , action expert Scott Adkins («Undisputed» series) and the German actor Oliver Masucci , who we know from domestic productions such as Netflix series «Dark» or the movie «He’s Back», but are also increasingly seen in Hollywood projects such as «Fantastic Beasts 3: Dumbledore’s Secrets».
“ Day Shift ” will be released on Netflix on August 12, 2022.
