Netflix/Disney
It came as quite a surprise when it was announced in mid-February this year that the six Marvel series that originally launched as Netflix Originals would disappear from that same streaming service on March 1, 2022. In the USA it only took a few weeks and on March 16 the series were already available there on Disney Plus . But German Marvel fans had to wait a long time for the return. Now the end is finally in sight: On June 29, 2022, » Daredevil «, » Jessica Jones «, » Luke Cage «, » Iron Fist «, » The Punisher » and » The Defenders » will be released’ on Disney+.

Of course, this is handy for Marvel fans, since almost all major Marvel films and series are now on a single streaming service, although there are of course still a few exceptions such as Sony’s «Spider-Man» films, which for the time being none There is hope that they will end up on Disney’s video platform in the short or medium term.
Do «Daredevil» & Co. belong to the MCU?
In fact, this question cannot be answered that clearly – for two reasons: First, because the series itself is actually already playing in the same universe as the MCU, since there are clear allusions to the events of the “Avengers” films, for example. On the other hand, the series were never included in Kevin Feige’s grand master plan and are not officially part of the so-called MCU phases. But that might not play such a big role anymore.
Secondly, since «Spider-Man: No Way Home» the MCU is no longer limited to a single universe. Instead of Marvel Cinematic Universe, we should actually be calling it Marvel Cinematic Multiverse by now. So in the latest Spidey adventure, a lot of characters from other Spider-Man movie universes appeared that weren’t originally part of the MCU at all.
Charlie Cox also had an appearance as Daredevil in No Way Home, a role he previously played in the same series that’s about to return to Disney+. Whether this is actually the same version of the character, or a different one simply played by the same actor, has not yet been officially announced. A similar appearance of another «Daredevil» character was also made in the MCU series «Hawkeye». For spoiler reasons, we won’t reveal who it is. You can read about it in the following article:

At least «Daredevil» seems to have a connection to the MCU. So if you’re a Marvel fan, there’s no harm in checking it out, especially since it’s also considered one of the best Marvel series out there.
The other five new additions to Disney + play in the same series universe as «Daredevil», but whether they will still have any meaning for the MCU remains to be seen. So you can skip them for now if you’re just trying to understand the MCU. However, «Jessica Jones» and especially «The Punisher» also have a good reputation. So if you’re thirsty for Marvel supplies anyway, you’re certainly not doing anything wrong.
